ha Franklin\, Ray Charles\, Joe Cocker\, and Steely Dan to name a few. Max
well has handpicked a half dozen of their juiciest funkiest grooving instr

he has gained the respect of artists\, critics and fans and has establishe
d a reputation as one of the finest blues pianists alive. In the last dec
ade\, Maxwell has received over a half dozen Blues Music Awards and Grammy
nominations and a Grammy Award for recorded work\, as well as 6 Blues Mus

: 'R&B dynamo Gordon shows his reeds no mercy' DownBeat) -- tenor sax Mich
ael Williams (www.bluetempo.com: 'Williams blends snarl with surprising ly
ricism' Blues Revue) -- guitar Jesse Williams (with Duke Robillard among o
thers) -- bass Per Hanson (with Ronnie Earl among others) -- drums Maxwel
l is often compared to the great blues pianist Otis Spann (of the Muddy Wa
ters band)\, for his ability to resurrect the spirit and sound of the mast
er of post-war Chicago Blues Piano. But Maxwell is no mere imitation. He h
as created a style and sound uniquely his own. His diverse experience\, te
