 J.S. Bach and his contemporaries.   One of today's most distinguished and 
 versatile keyboard artists\, Mr. Sykes appears throughout the United State
 s and Europe in concerts\, festivals and conventions. He has performed wit
 h such groups as Musica Antiqua Koeln\, The King's Noyse\, and Ensemble Pr
 oject Ars Nova. He participated in Boston Early Music Festival's productio
 ns of Cavalli's Ercole Amante\, Lully's Thesee\, and Conradi's Ariadne\, a
 nd performs regularly with Boston Baroque.  Mr. Sykes was the 1993 laureat
 e of the Erwin Bodky Award for excellence in early music performance.  He 
 is on the faculties of the Longy School of Music and the New England Conse
 rvatory\, and is Chair of the Historical Performance department at Boston
