 tural Council (MCC) and the Cultural Center of Cape Cod will present a sma
 ll works exhibition\, Painted Visions: Paintings by Award-Winning Massachu
 setts Artist\, from July 13- August 8\, 2010 at the Cultural Center of Cap
 e Cod in South Yarmouth.   The exhibition will showcase some of the Common
 wealth's most talented painters working today.  	 Painted visions features
  eleven painters recognized by the MCC's Artist Fellowship Program:    Liz
 a Bingham (Cambridge)\, Rebecca Doughty (Cambridge)\, Christopher Faust (B
 oston)\, Yanick Lapuh (Brookline)\, Scott Listfield (Somerville)\, Joshua 
 Meyer (Cambridge)\, Anne Neely (Milton)\, Monica Nydam (Jamaica Plain)\, H
 arold Reddicliffe (Waltham)\, Matthew Rich (Jamaica Plain)\,and Michael Ze
 lehoski (Lee).  'It's an honor to host this exhibit\, since it brings some
  of the region's finest artists to the Cape for residents and visitors of 
 all ages and interests&rdquo\; said Robert Nash\, Executive Director\, Cul
 tural Center of Cape Cod.  &ldquo\;We work hard to exhibit a balance of em
 erging and established artists of all genres from the Cape and Islands\, t
 he region\, and across the country\, so we're very excited to devote our G
 reat Hall to such an excellent and eclectic collection of paintings.'   Th
 ese painters were selected from a pool of 488 applicants. The jurors inclu
 ded Evan Garza (New American Paintings)\, Allison Kemmerer (Addison Galler
 y of American Art) and Christine McCarthy (Provincetown Art Association an
 d Museum).  MCC Artist Fellowships provide direct assistance to Massachuse
 tts artists working across a range of disciplines\, to recognize exception
 al work and to support the further development of their talents. Artist Fe
 llowships give individuals the financial ability to hone and deepen their 
 craft.    &ldquo\;It's clear that painting continues to be a thriving art 
 form here in the Commonwealth&rdquo\; says Anita Walker\, MCC's Executive 
 Director.  &ldquo\;From exquisitely executed still-lifes to boldly rendere
 d geometrical abstraction\, this exhibition showcases the range of excepti
 onal artists we are fortunate to support.&rdquo\;   Samples of the artists
 ' work can be found on Gallery@MCC\, the MCC's online showcase of Artist F
 ellowship awardees and finalists.  Three other exhibits by Cape Cod artist
 s will also open at the Cultural Center at the same time: Dakota DeSmet\, 
 paintings\, in the Board Room from July 14-August 1. Cassia Maia\, silk pa
 intings\, in the Vault from July 14-24. And Arlene Weibel\, watercolors\, 
 in the Blue Room\, from July 14-25.\n\nStart time: Opening reception on Sa
