 ' classics from Boston's radio history! Travel back to the Golden Age of R
 adio\, to the night of Sunday\, October 27th\, 1946\, where the WPM studio
 s in the Rooftop Gardens Auditorium of the old Putnam-Moore Department Sto
 re in downtown Boston presented:  The FRANK CYRANO BYFAR HOUR  'The Byfar 
 Hour' was WPM's hit comedy/variety show\, hosted by local boy made sorta g
 ood\, Frank Cyrano\, and sponsored by Byfar Coffee Syrup. The 1946 Hallowe
 en broadcast finds Frank Cyrano trying to get Boris Karloff on his show. T
 here's only a few hours left to air and Frank is in a panic: it looks like
  he's failed to get Boris and only a miracle will save the show now!  Join
 ing Frank Cyrano as always are his wife\, Amelia Adams\; the lovely Miss J
 enny Brennan\, the cool cat Lex Concord and the Minutemen\, the unflappabl
 e Charley Kendall and the whole Chowderhouse Gang.   Music for the Byfar H
 our will be performed by members of Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching B
 and!  and                                  The TOMES OF TERROR A local Hal
 loween tradition\, WPM's classic fright-fest\, 'Tomes of Terror' featured 
 tales of terror presented by your host\, The Bookkeeper. This year's two m
 acabre stories are:  'But Oh\, What Happened to Hutchings?' by Roy Sallows
 \, Directed by Gilly Rosenthol 'The Sirens of War' by Alicia E. Goranson\,
  Directed by Jess Viator  Approximate run-time: 2hrs 30min  There will be 
 four performances:   Thursday\, October 28 at 8 PM Friday\, October 29 at 
 8 PM Saturday\, October 30 at 8 PM Sunday\, October 31 at 2 PM   The Octob
 er 31st performance will feature a costume contest in honor of Halloween. 
 Prizes will be awarded to the best 1940s inspired costume!  Tickets are $1
