 ompany_in_a_Concert_of_Three_New_Dances\nEvent Date Begin: 2010-12-11\nEve
nt Date End: 2010-12-12\n\nThis December\, DANCE PROJECTS\, INC. will pres
ent Beth Soll & Company in a concert of three Boston premieres by noted ch
oreographer\, Beth Soll\, who played an active role in the Boston dance sc
ene from 1971-1997. The concert will take place at the Julie Ince Thompson
Theatre in the Dance Complex in Cambridge\, MA on Saturday\, December 11
 at 8 p.m. and Sunday\, December 12 at 2 p.m. \nFor her first formal Boston
concert since 1997\, Soll and her company will present 'Restless Geometry
 ' (2010)\, 'Tribute' (world premiere)\, and 'Disclosure'(2010). Choreogra
pher Beth Soll\, described by critic Thea Singer (The Boston Phoenix) as &
ldquo\;. . something of an alchemist [who] takes the dross of everyday lif
e and turns it into the equivalent of spun gold\, &rdquo\; has created a c
oncert that refers eloquently to the vital interaction of the personal and
the objective. Within the perfect geometry of the French formal gardens\
, 18th century citizens frolicked\, lusted\, and plotted the deaths of oth
ers. Inspired by this juxtaposition of human fallibility and mathematical
perfection\, Beth Soll has choreographed 'Restless Geometry'\, a work for
seven very human dancers\, who wrestle with the mathematical constraints
of both the shapes they create and the sublime structure of music from the
17th and 18th centuries. Also on the program are two new solos. 'Disclos
ure' is an introspective solo for Soll herself to the dramatic sounds of S
tuart Dempster\, Pauline Oliveros\, and Panaiotis. In her premiere of 'Tri
bute'\, with references to approaches and movements from earlier eras\, So
ll speaks directly to the audience in fragments from many different langua
ges about the frustrations and joys of the human attempt to communicate. P
erforming with Soll in this concert are Kimberly Almquist\, Randy Burd\, V
 ictoria Dombroski\, Lara Gemmiti\, Lindsey Miller\, Manuel Sandridge\, and
Tamara Saari. Lighting design is by David Haan.\nTickets at 212-927-0476

on. Half-price tickets available through BosTix.\n\nStart time: Saturday\,
  December 11 at 8 p.m.\nSunday\, December 12 at 2 p.m.
