 at created an obesity prevention program centered on physical activity and
  nutrition\, is holding its first annual gala\, 'Everyone is a CYCLE Kid: 
 Commitment of Communities to Eliminate Childhood Obesity.' Over 200 busine
 ss\, government and community leaders will gather to raise money to implem
 ent the CYCLE Kids program in Cambridge public elementary schools giving m
 ore than 500 students - in just the first year - the opportunity to be hap
 py and healthy.  CYCLE Kids will be honoring Joseph Curtatone\, the Mayor 
 of Somerville\, MA The Mayor's work and dedication to end childhood obesit
 y and his advocacy for the CYCLE Kids program. Mayor Curtatone was recentl
 y called upon by Michelle Obama for his work on the subject and was an hon
 orary attendee at First Lady Obama's kick-off 'Let's Move!' event at the W
 hite House.  First Lady Obama's 'Let's Move!' initiative spotlights the se
 verity of childhood obesity\, providing new social and media platforms for
  communities to make changes\, making the CYCLE Kids program more signific
 ant than ever.  Founded in 2004 by Executive Director Julianne Idlet\, the
  CYCLE Kids program integrates bicycling safety and the importance of maki
 ng healthy food choices into 4th and 5th grade classrooms. The CYCLE Kids 
 curriculum provides a tangible solution to this epidemic and improves self
 -confidence of children\, increases their opportunity for physical activit
 y\, and helps spread the message of healthy living to kids and their famil
