 ouse welcomes lively trio Slim Chance Acoustic and upbeat trio Outrageous 
 Fortune at 7:30 on Friday\, February 11\, to benefit The Barton Center for
  Diabetes Education and Research!\nYou may recognize Slim Chance's Seth As
 ser or Ray Dunn as longtime veterans of the local performance scene\, play
 ing over the years  with a complete gamut of acoustic and rock bands.  Dun
 n\, mellow on the bass\, and Asser\, on lead guitar\, mandolin\, and harmo
 nica\, are both adept vocalists as well and self-described 'well-seasoned'
  musicians.  The third member of this and eclectic and impressive acoustic
  trio is high-energy and exceptionally appealing lead singer Meghan Larson
 .  Larson\, who has been singing for fun all her life\, recently began sin
 ging in bands\, and in Slim Chance Acoustic has found the style and the gr
 oup with which she feels at home and inspired. Every minute of their perfo

 d acoustic early jazz and blues trio. Their repertoire features early jazz
  (Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong)\; blues and jug band music (Robert J
 ohnson and the Memphis Jug Band)\; and a dollop of folk music (Old-time Ap
 palachian\, Guthrie\, and Dylan).  The trio is Chris Welles on guitar\; Ro
 d Thomas on harmonicas\; and Dan Dick on jug\, washboard\, upright bass\, 
 banjo\, flutes\, and kitchen utensils. Audiences are wowed by their instru
 mental virtuosity\, and are delighted by their smooth three-part vocal har
 monies\, their strong groove\, and the abundant joy that infuses every per
 formance. Outrageous Fortune has been bringing smiles to New England audie
 nces since 1998 at coffeehouses\, festivals\, clubs\, public libraries\, a
 nd private events.\n \nThe Second Friday Coffeehouse is greater Boston's o
 riginal all-benefit coffeehouse.  The beneficiary of this performance is T
 he Barton Center for Diabetes Education and Research\, which among other p
 rograms runs The Clara Barton Camp for Girls and the Joslin Camp for Boys\
 , providing  unique and vital recreational and educational services and su
 pport to young people with insulin-dependent diabetes. The performance tak
