 nd of Bee and Flower (former Cordero) guitarist Lynn Wright. His music com
 bines images of a gothic Deep South with the rhythms of South America and 
 the grainier elements of barroom jazz and avant-pop. The band features Pau
 l Watson (Sparklehorse\, Michael Hurley\, Orthotonics) on cornet and trump
 et\, Chris Michael/Pippin Barnett (Curlew\, Nimal) on drums and percussion
 \, Eric Eble (Cordero\, Reid Paley Trio)/Tony Maimone (Pere Ubu\, Mekons\,
  Book of Knots\, etc.) on bass\, Andrew Megginson and Tim Ward on backing 
 vocals\, and Jon Petrow (Cloudroom\, Bee and Flower) on guitar.\n\nLavalie
 r is the brainchild of former Cloud Room members Dave Horowitz and Steve M
 ilton.  Conceived over the course of several years touring the globe and n
 avigating the requisite backstage debauchery\, cramped vans\, and couch su
 rfing\, Milton and Horowitz developed their penchant for a melancholy\, ps
 ychedelic\, lo-fi sound that features seductive fuzz-slide guitars and a h
 ypnotic accordion.  Now much more than a simple side project\, Lavalier ha
 s grown in size and boasts up to 15 members including: Melati Malay (guita
 r/vox)\, Terrence Caulkins (percussion/programming)\, Yasmin Resharmwala (
 keytar/vox)\, Nathan Haselby (upright bass) and the unique vocal stylings 
 of Lavalier's Brooklyn-based choir (Leah Milton\, Kate Tellers\, Melody Ab
 erg\, Johanna Taylor\, Rachel Kauffman\, and Marla Thornes). \n\nStart tim
