 t lively original paintings by illustrator Adam Gustavson. The artwork on 
 view was created for the book The Yankee at the Seder\, written by Elka We
 ber.  The exhibition is displayed in participation with the 2011 Framingha
 m Reads Together Program. A town-wide program that focuses on educating pe
 ople about the Civil War during it's 'th Anniversary through exciting even
 ts.  The Yankee at the Seder is set at the very end of the Civil War\, in 
 a Virginia town. Young Jacob wants more than anything to show that the Sou
 th is not ready to concede defeat to the North.  But then Myer Levy\, a Je
 wish Yankee soldier\, joins Jacob's family Passover meal.  Gathered around
  the Seder table\, the group discusses what it means to be free. This touc
 hing\, heart-felt story shows how cultural and religious connections can s
 tretch across many boundaries.\n\nStart time: 2pm
