 writer Emily Elbert. The rising folk artist will perform two free outdoor 
 shows Thursday\, 7/28\, at noon in Kendal Square\, 300 Athenaeum Street\, 
 in Cambridge\; and 6 p.m. at the Institute of Contemporary Art\, Putnam In
 vestment Plaza\, 100 Northern Avenue\, in Boston.   Emily Elbert\, who rec
 ently released her second album\, Proof\, has won numerous awards\, includ
 ing Glamour magazine's Top 10 College Women (http://glmr.me/elbert)\, a sp
 ot in the Gibson/Baldwin Grammy Foundation's jazz ensemble\, and WUMB's Be
 st New Artist of 2008. Raised in Texas\, Elbert has played across the U.S.
  and in Scotland\, Puerto Rico\, and Peru. Her cover of Michael Jackson's
