 Srinivasan is a third-generation Bharatanatyam dancer\, teacher and choreo
 grapher. She is also a lecturer at the Asian and Asian-American Studies De
 partment at SUNY Stony Brook and on the dance faculty of the Young Indian 
 Culture Group.\nBharatanatyam is an Indian classical dance form that dates
  back to ancient Indian drama from 2 B.C.E. Notable for its complex rhythm
 ic footwork and intricate patterns made by the hands and arms\, the dancer
 's body becomes &ldquo\;geometry in motion.&rdquo\;\nThis performance will
  feature a live carnatic orchestra composed of voice\, violin\, mridangam\
