 ck the winner of the best short film!  Films about a bris\, a fig tree\, g
 randpa and an Orthodox boy who has a pig for a friend will be in the Bosto
 n Jewish Film Festival's competition. Six jurors rated our field of 16 sho
 rt films\, leaving us with 7 to show you in this program.  The films are: 
  The Bris\, directed by CJ Johnson\, Australia\, 15 min.\, in English. &ld
 quo\;A shaggy dog story with a yarmulke.&rdquo\; Filmmaker present.  David
  and Goliath\, directed by George Zaverdas\, USA\, 12 min.\, in English. B
 ased upon a true story\, a ferocious German shepherd becomes the unlikely 
 savior of David\, a Jewish resistance fighter being hunted by Nazis.  The 
 Fig Tree (La Higuera)\, directed by Alejo Moreno\, Spain\, 14 min.\, in Sp
 anish with subtitles. A fable from Granada about an old woman whose enchan
 ted tree bears golden figs.  Grandpa Looked Like William Powell\, directed
  by David B. Levy\, USA\, 4 min.\, in English\, animation. The director ta
 kes a good look at his Grandpa Herman's 1924 high school autograph book.  
 Kosher (Kasher)\, directed by Isabelle Stead\, France\, 10 min.\, silent. 
 What happens when a lonely eight-year-old Orthodox Jewish boy makes friend
 s with an errant pig?  The Little Nazi\, directed by Petra L&uuml\;schow\,
  Germany\, 14 min.\, in German with subtitle\, 35mm An Israeli visitor joi
 ns the family in visiting Grandma W&ouml\;lkel for Christmas. Unfortunatel
 y\, old age is catching up with Grandma\, who revisits her Nazi past.  Sta
 rring David (David de Ster)\, directed by Ester Gould\, Netherlands\, 19 m
 in.\, in Dutch with subtitles. With a Jewish dad and a Chinese mom\, David
  prepares for his Bar Mitzvah\, and a chance to become Jewish.\n\nStart ti
