  tradition of military and outdoor pageantry\, drum corps\, bands\, and co
 lor guards have a long history in America. Often rehearsing twelve hours a
  day through heat\, cold\, dust and rain\, they create thrilling performan
 ces where athleticism\, musical talent\, kaleidoscopic movement\, and show
 manship merge into an art form that is both competitive and entertaining. 
 Rising from fertile midwestern fields\, one drum corps\, Star of Indiana\,
  consistently set ever-higher standards of excellence. From its inception 
 in 1984\, Star of Indiana achieved successes no corps in history had ever 
 accomplished in such a short time. With its place in drum corps legend sec
 ure\, Star moved beyond its earlier triumphs to bring the power\, passion 
 and precision of outdoor pageantry to the stage in a musical performance t
