 The first hour of the jam is a concert\, featuring the host band - some of
  the finest musicians from the area and often featuring great players from
  NYC and beyond. After the first hour\, we open it up to the 'jammers' who
  get the opportunity sit in and hone their skills trading licks with some 
 of the finest players in the area. Some of the best jazz can be heard here
  any Tuesday night! Come watch or play!!\n\nKaoruko comes from Tokyo where
  she worked in the nightclubs singing and playing piano. She came to Bosto
 n in 1990 to study at Berklee College of Music where she studied jazz comp
 osition with Herb Pomeroy\, Greg Hopkins and met her mentor of jazz Hal Cr
 ook. Kaoruko now leads her band  the Kaoruko Jazz Ensemble on the local sc
