 -03-09\n\nIn this short workshop\, students will be introduced to the fund
 amental techniques of the didgeridoo which include producing the basic dro
 ne\, manipulations of the fundamental note\, and taking the first steps to
 wards circular breathing. Plastic 'starter' didgeridoos will be provided. 
 All ages and abilities are welcome.\n\nThe Australian aboriginal didgerido
 o is one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. Said to produce h
 igher states of awareness and trance\, anthropologists say it may have bee
 n used in aboriginal rituals as early as 40\,000 years ago. Circular breat
 hing (breathing in and out at the same time)\, and a variety of vocal and 
 tonguing techniques allow the player to produce a rich drone\, full of ove
 rtones and countless textures\, with many rhythmic elements. The emphasis 
 on the full and supported breath give playing the didgeridoo all the benef
 its of breath therapy\; indeed playing the instrument has helped or even c
 ured asthma.\n\nDaniel Orlansky has been playing the didgeridoo for 20 yea
 rs both in America and Europe. He has performed in many locations\, notabl
 y at Berkley College of Music\, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts\, the Bosto
 n Jazz Festival\, the Cambridge River Festival\, and for the Boston Ballet
  and many local dance companies. For work\, Daniel is a full time yoga tea
 cher\, offering classes\, workshops\, and teacher trainings worldwide.\n\n
