DESCRIPTION:Event Name: The Miracle Worker \nEvent Url: http://www.artsbost
 on.org/event/detail/441561587/The_Miracle_Worker_\nEvent Date Begin: 2012-
04-13\nEvent Date End: 2012-05-13\n\nImagine yourself imprisoned in a fore
ign land where no one speaks your language\, you understand no one\, and e
veryone assumes you are ignorant\, possessed or insane. Imagine your frust
ration if you couldn't communicate. Imagine how your fear could turn to ra
ge\, especially at 8 years old.\n'The Miracle Worker' is a remarkable true
story of strength\, courage\, dedication and love. It's the story of how
in desperation\, Helen Keller's parents seek help from a Perkins Institute
staff member\, Annie Sullivan\, to tutor their daughter. Most of all\, th
is play by William Gibson\, is a celebration of a child's rebirth into the
world around her. Annie Sullivan fed Helen Keller the universe through he
r hands and reawakened the limitless possibilities of being alive.\n'The M
iracle Worker' stars 8-year-old accomplished actor Audree Hedequist in the
role of Helen Keller. Audree won over the Director and Casting Agent with
her determination and drive to play Helen Keller\; having isolated hersel
f at home with ear plugs and a blindfold. Since then\, Audree has been res
earching both Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan\, and has been working regul
arly with Jaimi Lard\, a Deaf-Blind consultant at the Perkins School. Her
3rd grade report on Annie Sullivan received an &ldquo\;A&rdquo\;.\n\nStar
