 NING TURTLE ISLAND QUARTET TEAM UP WITH STUDENT MUSICIANS FROM THROUGHOUT 
 THE COUNTRY AT JORDAN HALL!\n\nOn Saturday\, April 14th at 7:30 pm\, the N
 ew England's own Boston String Quartet\, will form a string octet with the
  pioneers of &ldquo\;jazz for strings&rdquo\;\, and the winners of the 200
 4 and 2006 Best Classical Crossover GRAMMY award\, Turtle Island Quartet. 
 Jeanette Olsson\, singer for popstars such as Britney Spears\, String\, an
 d Celine Dion\, and more recently Seasons 1 & 2 of the hit television show
  GLEE! will appear for a solo and duet vocal feature. 6-Time EMMY award wi
 nner and Hollywood film score writer for &ldquo\;The Nightmare before Chri
 stmas&rdquo\; Lanny Meyers will appear on piano and as composer of &ldquo\
 ;Brubeckiana&rdquo\; a reimagination of jazz legend\, Dave Brubeck's &ldqu
 o\;Rondo A La Turk&rdquo\; which will then be subsequently recorded and re
 leased on Dave Brubeck's next commercial CD release. Boston String Quartet
  will also be joined on stage by the Xibus World Orchestra & Chorus\, a sy
 mphony orchestra and choir comprised of highly accomplished students from 
 over twelve states nationwide. Picture world and rock fusion\, with music 
 hailing from such countries as India\, Ghana\, Canada\, and Kazakhstan. Th
 ere may be a symphony orchestra on stage\, but it's not your parents' clas
 sical music. And\, it's cultivating a whole new generation of classical mu
 sic lovers.    \n\nHeadliners GRAMMY winning Turtle Island Quartet and GLE
 E! vocalist Jeanette Olsson signed on to the event to support the mission 
 of the empowering student musicians and music education nationwide. Turtle
  Island Quartet will be performing a string octet written by Berklee profe
 ssor Andrew List\, &ldquo\;Brubeckiana&rdquo\;\, original selection with o
 rchestra\, and the World Premiere of an original work by Xibus World Orche
 stra composition contest winner Alissa Cheung. Ms. Olsson will perform a W
 orld Premiere of an original work by School of Groove faculty member Evan 
 LaFlamme\, and duet with Grammy nominee countertenor Ryland Angel.\n\nStar
