 ound the country will pack the Cambridge\nPerforming Arts Center May 12-13
 th for the explosive finale to the In\nthe Groove: Battle of the Bands 201
 2\, hosted by the Music Makers'\nFoundation. 16 finalists\, representing s
 ome of the finest talent east\nof the Mississippi\, will go head to head t
 o win some incredible\nawards.\n\nLast Fall\, 64 bands hailing from Maine 
 to Florida competed in Boston\,\nNew York\, Philadelphia\, and Washington\
 , D.C. for the chance to perform\nat the new Xibus Performance Hall\, part
  of the new Cambridge\nPerforming Arts Center. Now\, the final 16 will go 
 all out\, vying for\nthe judge's vote\, audience's support\, and the fanta
 stic prizes\,\nincluding:\n\n   * $1000 gift certificate to Sam Ash Music
 \n   * Featured set at the legendary Symphony Hall in Boston\, MA\, home\n
 to the Boston Pops\, Boston Symphony Orchestra\, and regularly cited as\no
 ne of the best music halls in all the world (Spring 2013)\n   * Management
  contract for 2012-13 US Tour opening for the Boston\nString Quartet. Date
 s to be determined\, but including cities in DC\,\nVT\, IA\, GA\, TN\, OH\
 , FL\, VA\n   * Music publishing contract for one book with Groove Publish
 ing.\nBook shall include up to eight original musical compositions by the
 \nwinning band\, and shall be available for commercial purchase in stores
 \nand in online marketplaces.\n\nThe highly anticipated Battle begins at 3
 pm on Saturday\, May 12 for\nthe Under 18 set\, and 5pm Sunday the 13th fo
 r the Over 18s. The\nJessica Prouty Band - who've also won numerous Battle
 s of the Bands\nand other competitions\, had their songs played on Boston 
 radio\, and\nreleased three albums\, the latest of which\, My Way\, came o
 ut this past\nJune - will kick off the festivities and open the show.\n\nT
