 er. Well\, artist Angelo Aversa has been creating oil paintings of this hi
 storic riverway.  \n\n&ldquo\;Angelo Aversa: Views of the Charles River&rd
 quo\;  opens May 7th at the Faneuil Library Art Gallery at 419 Faneuil St.
  (Oak Sq.) in Brighton.  The exhibit runs through May 31 with an opening r
 eception with the artist on May 8th at 6:30 pm. For many years\, Angelo Av
 ersa has been creating outdoor plein air oil paintings of grand urban and 
 historic settings and structures in Allston and Brighton.   This exhibitio
 n focuses on his paintings related to the beauty  and magic of the histori
 c Charles River.\n\nAngelo Aversa has resided in Allston\, Massachusetts f
 or over 30 years and attended New England School of Art and Design.  For m
 any years\, he was a drummer for local bands\, including &ldquo\;The Phant
 oms&rdquo\;\, which performed in numerous nightclubs and on local televisi
 on.  He has also designed record jackets\, posters and flyers for many roc
 k bands. He is a member of the Allston Arts District and participates in t
 heir annual Open Studio and is a member of the Watertown Art Association. 
  While on vacation in Rockport one summer\, he fell in love with painting 
 oils on canvas.  His favorite motifs and subjects\, in the realism traditi
 on with some impressionism\, includes landscapes\, historic dwellings\, an
 d contemporary street scenes. He exhibits his artworks in many group shows
  in the greater Boston area and he strives to create artistic expressions 
 of what is present in our daily lives and is all around us.\n\nStart time:
