  2012-08-15\n\nConcord Art Association is pleased to present Present/Futur
 e: A Showcase of Emerging Artists\, June 21-August 15\, 2012.  The exhibit
  features the work of graduate students from Rhode Island School of Design
  Fine Arts Department (RISD) and Boston University Master of Fine Arts Pro
 gram (BU).\n\nThe work in the exhibit represents each student's unique exp
 erience in the graduate programs at RISD and BU\, which resulted in a body
  of work created to support their individual thesis. Students had several 
 years to research\, experiment\, and develop their critical thinking\, art
 istic skills and viewpoints\, creating work that is fresh\, robust and mak
 es us look at materials and processes in new ways. \nIlana Manolson\, the 
 show's curator and Concord Art Board Member states\, &ldquo\;We strive to 
 present quality work by artists throughout their careers &ndash\; from hig
 h school students to mature adults. In addition to our annual juried membe
 r shows and independently-curated exhibits that feature mid-career artists
 \, we also present the work of students from our local high school and fro
 m own our classes offered at Concord Art. Present/Future adds a critical a
 nd inspiring component to our programming as it's a reflection of contempo
 rary work and critical thinking performed by graduating MFA students from 
 two excellent art schools.  We are pleased to host these artists and look 
 forward to following their careers in the future.'\nThe Opening Reception 
 for the exhibit is Thursday\, June 21 from 6-8:00pm. The reception is free
