 Phillips\nEvent Date Begin: 2012-09-28\nEvent Date End: 2012-09-28\n\nGlen
Phillips started his first band\, Toad The Wet Sprocket in Santa Barbara
at age 15. It was that group's third album -- the jangling\, orchestral Fe
ar -- that truly broke the group\, garnering heavy radio play with the sin
gles 'All I Want' and 'Walk on the Ocean.' Phillips began touring as a sol
o act and has released 5 solo records. In 2006\, he went back on tour with
a reunited Toad the Wet Sprocket\, and decided to begin working on a new
Toad album to be released late this year. Walking in the Green Corn is the
newest album by Grant-Lee Phillips. Its ten songs are drawn from Phillips
' intensive investigations into his native lineage. Phillips\, who is Musk
ogee (Creek)\, elliptically explores the intersection of past and present\
, personal and political. While the songs delve deeply into the subconscio
us mystery of his own backstory\, they simultaneously reveal the resonance
and insight of ancient myth in parallel to contemporary man's emotions\,
 actions\, and errors.\n\nStart time: 8:00 PM
