 ourse introduces students to various approaches to landscape photography. 
 In this case we will investigate the historically and geologically rich te
 rrain of South Dartmouth in Southeastern Massachusetts. Because of its loc
 ation students will be able to explore many possibilities to photograph th
 e landscape in its many forms: forests\, open meadows\, pastures\, wet lan
 d\, shore\, sea\, agriculture and more.\n\nTechnical aspects of landscape 
 photography\, such as light\, color\, black & white and composition will b
 e covered\, as well as conceptual and historical approaches beginning with
  masters of the 19th and 20th century to the contemporary. Various styles 
 and techniques will be discussed\, including: Timothy O'Sullivan\, Edward 
 Weston\, Richard Misrach\, Barbara Bosworth and Eirik Johnson\, to name a 
 few.\n\nStudents will be encouraged to examine the landscape in its geolog
 ical splendor\, landscape as environment\, metaphor\, abstraction\, the re
 lationship of man to the land\, remnants of American history within the la
 ndscape\, among others. The course will provide students with more confide
 nce in their approaches of photographing technically\, conceptually and ae
 sthetically &ndash\; giving them a better understanding of ways to create 
 beautiful and meaningful images.\n\nThis course is for intermediate amateu
 r and beginning professional photographers. Basics of camera functions are
  required but do not have to be professionally advanced.\n\nFREE ADMISSION
