Art is the first exhibition to focus on the relationship between philosop
hy and Klee's artistic oeuvre and to reveal the broad impact the artist ha
s had on recent philosophical thought. It demonstrates how the artist's gr
oundbreaking theories of nature\, words\, and music developed in his writi
ngs and lectures are translated into form\, line\, and color in his works
of art. The exhibition also reveals Klee as an astute critic of modern soc
iety\, especially with regard to the impact of technology and the politica
l failures that led to the rise of Nazism in Germany. \n\nA large number o
f works on display have been lent by the Zentrum Paul Klee in Bern\; other
