  and new projects. Jim Porcella called to tell us that the band was intere
 sted in starting a swing dance scene at the Center. 'You Betcha' was our a
 nswer. We're gonna give it a try here and if it works we'll schedule a mon
 thly dance.  So shine 'em up an' flap 'em!\n\nSince the release of their 2
 001 CD 'Keep Honkin'\, Bombay Jim and the Swinging Sapphires is hailed as 
 one of the country's hottest swing bands. Featured on the HBO Series\, 'Fa
 mily Bonds'\, and heard on jazz and swing radio stations throughout the na
 tion. Bombay Jim and the Swinging Sapphires has opened for the Cherry Popp
 in' Daddies and the Les Brown Orchestra. They have performed at The Great 
 Connecuticut Jazz Festival and the Cape Cod Jazz Festival to name a few. M
 embers of the band have backed industry luminaries such as\, Tony Bennett\
