 ldquo\;Master Drummer\,&rdquo\; Sowah Mensah performs music from Ghana and
  made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2000 as a soloist in David Fanshaw's Afri
 can Sanctus. Currently a professor at both Macalester College and the Univ
 ersity of St. Thomas in St. Paul\, MN\, where he also directs each school'
 s African Music Ensemble. Additionally\, he is the James Marsh Professor-a
 t-Large at the University of Vermont in Burlington\, VT. Mensah is also th
 e director of Sankofa\, a Ghanaian Folklore and Dance Ensemble and a membe
 r of Speaking in Tongues\, a four-piece group both based out of the Twin C
 ities. An accomplished composer who has released multiple albums with trem
 endous success\, he has performs extensively in the United States\, Latin 
 America\, Africa\, and China.
