 ibit October 6th-21st\, 2012 Artists Reception Saturday\, October 6th\, 7-
 9PM   The Hyannis Harbor Arts Center will feature the exhibit Michele Nois
 et: Drawing Dystopia\, October 5th-21st. All are invited to meet the artis
 t\, on Saturday October 6th from 7 to 9pm.   Michele Noiset has been a fre
 elance illustrator for over twenty-five years since graduating from the Rh
 ode Island School of Design (RISD) with a degree in Illustration. She has 
 worked on publishing\, advertising\, and editorial jobs for companies nati
 onwide. Her drawings have been reproduced on many products from rugs to sn
 owboards. She has illustrated children's games and puzzles\, and has devel
 oped lines of greeting cards and Christmas ornaments. Her published illust
 rations are colorful\, whimsical\, and animated\, usually painted traditio
 nally in gouache and acrylics.   Recently Michele took a departure from he
 r whimsical illustration\, returning to school to work on her MFA. She com
 pleted her studies at the University of Massachusetts/Dartmouth (UMD) in M
 ay 2011. As part of her thesis project\, Michele worked on the theme of ma
 n's inhumanity to man using plots of dystopian novels as her inspiration. 
 She worked entirely in the pastel medium\, and developed a series of tight
 ly rendered\, closely cropped\, and refined images. She continues to expan
 d on the work she began for her master's\, finding unlimited dystopian the
 mes to build upon. The images shown at the Hyannis Harbor Arts Center at t
 he Guyer Barn are a continuation of this project.   Besides teaching full-
 time at UMD\, Michele continues to pursue her freelance illustration busin
 ess\, and conducts Pastel Workshops and a 'Drawing Children' course at RIS
