 hat Enacts its Own Becoming. Many consider Beethoven to have been a vision
 ary who&mdash\;along with Freud\, Darwin\, and Marx&mdash\;significantly s
 haped our sense of ourselves as &ldquo\;Human&rdquo\;\; that is\, beings e
 ndowed with a rich and complex inner life\, and a Will\, capable of reflec
 tion as well as action in the world. In the case of Beethoven\, the way we
  engage the musical experience has been forever transformed because of his
  music\, which continues to inspire us to take risks and think &ldquo\;out
 side the box&rdquo\;. Performed by renowned cellist Pieter Wispelwey and p
 ianist Lois Shapiro\, his five remarkably diverse cello sonatas span his e
 ntire compositional output\, and thereby serve as a microcosm of his entir
 e oeuvre&mdash\;affording us an opportunity to explore a musical process t
 hat seems to 'Enact its own Becoming'.\nThis concert is made possible by t
