 \nLaurie Theater\, Spingold Theater Center\nThis performance will help stu
 dents delve into the world of visual art\, asking\, How does an image insp
 ire movement and theater? This choreographed program will draw on images f
 rom paintings\, from the parallelism in medieval art to the abstract expre
 ssionism of contemporary art. The program will include theater and dance p
 ieces that evoke a wide range of styles and themes\, as well as stories to
 ld with the intricacy of artists' symbolism and composition in paintings. 
 Choreographer Susan Dibble says\, 'Dance and movement theater is a field o
 f performance that presents a physical world of form\, line and color. Thi
 s program will emphasize lighting design - how it enhances the movement an
 d also creates shadows and angles to bring visual accent and life to the c
 ompositions.'
