 0-23\n\nJoe Raia grew up in Lexington\, MA\, and graduated from Berklee Co
 llege of Music in Boston where he studied saxophone and clarinet with the 
 world-renowned woodwind instructor\, the late great Joe Viola\, and studie
 d composition and arranging with Herb Pomeroy\, Phil Wilson\, and Greg Hop
 kins. A stalwart in the New England blues\, R&B and jazz scene\, he has pe
 rformed with many Boston Music Awards winners and nominees\, Boston Battle
  of the Blues Bands winners\, and has performed in 11 countries in North A
 merica and Europe. In addition to teaching saxophone at WCMS\, he is also 
 a woodwind instructor for the Wellesley Public Schools.\nThe first hour of
  the jam is a concert\, featuring the host band - some of the finest music
 ians from the area and often featuring great players from NYC and beyond. 
 After the first hour\, we open it up to the 'jammers' who get the opportun
 ity sit in and hone their skills trading licks with some of the finest pla
 yers in the area. Some of the best jazz can be heard here any Tuesday nigh
