 Webber\, (who directed Greta Gerwig in his 2010 film Northern Comfort)\, i
 s gearing up for his latest offering\, The Church of Love and Confusion.\n
 The ambitious project is both a film and a series of paintings about a cla
 n of shipwrecked cosmonauts in which Webber focuses on microcosms\, moment
 s and minutiae. The story (of the filmed portion)\, does not concern itsel
 f with traditional story-telling techniques\, but rather focuses on shadow
 -play and patterns which become the pounding pulse of winged aliens and Da
 nte-esque hell-scapes. Webber's paintings are what would be best described
  as cro-magnon space-art\, or perhaps futuristic cave drawings. Webber is 
 a true risk-taker\, and the show is well worth a viewing if you can catch 
 the scarce openings.\nPaintings from The Church of Love and Confusion show
