 and important place in the design history of the 20th century. This design
  philosophy grew from the traditional Finnish life-style of mutual support
  within local communities and between human beings and nature and has draw
 n international attention since the early 1950's. \n \nA native of Finland
 \, Tarja Cockell has a degree in textiles and design with a major in weavi
 ng. A weaving teacher before moving to US\, her current work uses mixed te
 xtile mediums in contemporary wall art pieces that use simplified images t
 o convey the essence of the forms leaving space imagination.\n
