 End: 2012-12-31\n\nWelcome in the New Year at The Mary Baker Eddy Library!
  Boston's First Night Festival of the Arts\, annually showcases the work o
 f 1\,000 artists in 200 performances and exhibits at 35 indoor and outdoor
  venues located throughout the downtown area on New Year's Eve. This signa
 ture Boston event is the oldest and largest of its kind in North America\,
  typically attracting about one million people from throughout the region.
  For First Night Button holders\, the event includes interactive activitie
 s for all ages\, gigantic ice sculptures on display\, two fireworks displa
 ys\, and a parade that sweeps through the streets of Boston.\nThe Library 
 will be providing face painting\, winter themed arts and crafts\, and crow
 n making for the city&ndash\;wide parade. We will also be hosting musical 
 performances by three groups:\n11:30 a.m: The Chinese Dulcimer Guzheng You
 th Band (youth dulcimer group)\,\n1:30 p.m.: Odaiko New England (Japanese 
 taiko drummers)\,\n3 p.m.: and the Back Bay Ringers (community handbell en
 semble).\nOfficial First Night Buttons will be on sale at the Library Shop
 \, stop in anytime from Sunday to Thursday\, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Check out i
