 al welcome to the holiday season taking place in late November or early De
 cember in Boston Common. Located in the middle of downtown\, Boston Common
  dates back to 1634\, making it the oldest park in the United States and o
 ne of Boston's premier landmarks.\nStarted in 1942\, the Boston Common Tre
 e Lighting Ceremony has grown from the lighting of one 45-foot Christmas t
 ree to using over 50\,000 lights to decorate the 60+ trees throughout Bost
 on Common. Featuring live music and dance performances\, the Boston Common
  Tree Lighting Ceremony is a can't-miss spectacle that consistently draws 
 upwards of 20\,000 people each year. Past Boston Common Tree Lighting Cere
 mony performers include Joey McIntyre\, Radio City Rockettes\, and Brian M
 cKnight.\nBoston Common Tree Lighting Ceremony admission is free and open
