  Salem Theatre Company Second Stage takes on stories and music of the sea 
 during a special event with Marblehead writer David Roper and local musici
 ans Daisy Nell and Captain Stan on Tuesday and Wednesday\, December 4 & 5 
 at 7:30 p.m. A Magical Evening of Music and Mermaids combines stories from
  Mr. Roper's Boston Globe bestselling memoir Watching for Mermaids with se
 a shanties performed by one of the North Shore's favorite maritime music d
 uos.\nThe STC Theater is located at 90 Lafayette Street in Salem. Tickets 
 are $10.\n Mr. Roper's stories for adults present a magical\, mysterious\,
  and challenging waterborne journey. &ldquo\;In 1959\, at 44.04N/68.35W\, 
 while rounding a bend on a small remote Maine island just east of Isle au 
 Haut\, a young boy stumbled upon two mermaids. No one believed him then. N
 o one believes him now. I was that boy\,&rdquo\; states Mr. Roper.\nDavid 
 Vos\, former PBS Executive Producer and 3-time National Emmy Award Winner 
 says &ldquo\;this treasure has struck a chord&hellip\;a sheer delight. Mr.
  Roper has seen magic\, and with a master's touch he recreates it all for 
 us.&rdquo\; Sandy Marsters\, former publisher of Points East Magazine says
