  exciting Suite for Two Cellos and Piano. The Shostakovich Piano Quintet t
 hat follows received so much enthusiasm from the audience upon its premier
 e that the final two movements were performed again\, a tradition sometime
 s observed today with enough prodding. The program concludes with arguably
  the greatest work in the chamber music repertoire\, Schubert's String Qui
 ntet in C major. Composed just weeks before Schubert's death in 1828 and n
 ot premiered until 22 years later\, it continues to touch listeners in a v
