 3-01-18\n\nThe 'Art on Loan' program which displays the work of local arti
 sts on the meeting room walls in Barnstable Town Hall\, features the photo
 graphs of Kathleen &ldquo\;Kat&rdquo\; Szmit through January 18\, 2013. Lu
 cy Loomis through mid October. \n\nKathleen 'Kat' Szmit is a reporter/phot
 ographer for The Barnstable Patriot in Hyannis. She got her start in photo
 graphy as a child living in Southwestern New Hampshire\, in a small town a
 long the Connecticut River\, where she delighted in drives through the cou
 ntryside\, camera in hand. Favorite subjects then (and now) were old barns
 \, trees of all types\, and the cows that roamed the fields of the dairy f
 arms in the region.\nA relocation to Cape Cod almost a decade ago provided
  Kat with an endless array of scenes to photograph\, from the beautiful wa
 ters around the peninsula\, to its myriad walking paths\, cozy villages\, 
 and so much more.\n'Taking photos is more than a hobby\; it is a means of 
 feeding the soul\,' said Kat. 'I hope my images delight and inspire\, whil
 e encouraging all to appreciate the marvelous beauty that is Cape Cod.'\nT
 he Artwork on Loan program provides a public venue for local artists to di
 splay their work. Visitors who use the meeting rooms will discover an invi
 ting and attractive environment and will have an opportunity to learn abou
