 ction of Islamic Art at the Harvard Art Museums\, this workshop will provi
 de an overview of exhibition themes by Mary McWilliams\, Norma Jean Calder
 wood Curator of Islamic and Later Indian Art\, and gallery activities desi
 gned to promote active learning and critical thinking. Topics to be discus
 sed:\n- How can the study of Islamic artworks\, some more than 1\,000 year
 s old\, help deepen contemporary cross-cultural understanding?\n- In what 
 ways are epic stories of the past &ldquo\;true&rdquo\;?\n- What skills and
  knowledge can be developed through close observation and visual analysis?
 \nParticipants will receive four PDP points and the exhibition catalogue f
 or In Harmony: The Norma Jean Calderwood Collection of Islamic Art. A limi
 ted number of bus stipends for class visits to the exhibition are availabl
 e.\nAdmission is free\, but space is limited and registration is required.
