 nniversaries with concerts by NEC faculty\, alumni\, and guests\, Tatyana 
 Dudochkin of the NEC Preparatory School piano faculty offers a salute to G
 iuseppe Verdi (1813&ndash\;1901) on his bicentennial.\nWGBH radio announce
 r Ron Della Chiesa hosts the event.\nFrom the elephants and tombs of A&ium
 l\;da\, to Shakespeare's outscale heroes\, to the epic romances of Gilda a
 nd Violetta\, Verdi's dramas define the parameters of Grand Opera.\nThere 
 will be many celebrations of his various facets during this bicentennial y
 ear\; tonight's survey maps his musical and emotional range\, with works b
 oth familiar and little-known.\nArias\nTatyana Dudochkin will provide aria
  accompaniment to two special guests\, and two members of the NEC College 
 voice faculty.\nThe many Verdi roles with which bass Mikhail Svetlov has b
 een associated in his legendary international career include Banquo and Fi
 llippo (heard tonight) as well as Walter in Luisa Miller\, Padre Guardiano
  in La Forza del Destino\, Zaccaria in Nabucco\, and Verdi's Requiem. Toni
 ght he sings 'Come dal ciel precipita' from Macbeth and 'Ella giammai m'am
 &ograve\;' from Don Carlos.\n \nTenor Adam Klein made his Metropolitan Ope
 ra debut as a boy\, singing the role of Yniold in Debussy's Pell&eacute\;a
 s et M&eacute\;lisande. The Verdi roles he has sung range from Radames in 
 A&iuml\;da to Alfredo in La Traviata. Tonight he sings 'La donna &egrave\;
  mobile' from Rigoletto.\n'Ma se m'&egrave\; forza perderti' from Un Ballo
  in Maschera\nBradley Williams\, tenor\n'Di Provenza il mar\, il suol' fro
