 cullers Jazz Club will present Yuto Kanazawa and Earthwards on Wednesday\,
  February 13 at 8 PM.  Tickets at $20.00 are on sale now at www.scullersja
 zz.com or by calling\, 617-562-4111.  Scullers Jazz Club is located in the
  Doubletree Suites by Hilton Hotel at 400 Soldiers Field Road in Allston\,
  Massachusetts.  The club is wheelchair accessible and there is ample park
 ing on site.\nTokyo-born\, Fukushima-raised 26-year-old jazz guitarist and
  composer Yuto Kanazawa is a Berklee College of Music and Koyo Conservator
 y graduate who has been studying all kinds of music--pop\, rock\, classica
 l\, jazz and folk since he was 3.  Yuto got the 'jazz bug' while at Koyo C
 onservatory and subsequently moved to Boston to attend Berklee where he st
 udied with Mick Goodrick\, Tim Miller\, Hal Crook\, Dave Santoro\, Greg Ho
 pkins and Phil Wilson. He has since toured Japan and performed at the Hama
 matsu Jazz Festival as well as at the Blue Note Osaka. His hip band also a
 ppears in shows and clubs in greater Boston.\nHis new CD\, Earthwards\, [t
 o be released in January\, 2013] on Interrobang Records\, features powerfu
 l contemporary jazz with one track\, 'The Ocean' written immediately in th
 e aftermath of the Fukushima Tsunami disaster in 2010.   The piece musical
 ly describes his reaction to the devastation in his home city.\nAt Sculler
 s\, Earthwards will include saxophonist Mario Castro from Puerto Rico\, cl
 arinetist Felix Peikli from Oslo\, Norway and bassist Zwelakhe-Duma Bell l
 e Pere who hails from Connecticut.  A drummer will be announced shortly.
