 rt\, Baroque cellist Emily Davidson explores lesser-known repertoire for t
 he unaccompanied cello. Musicians and classical music fans alike are famil
 iar with the Cello Suites of J.S. Bach\; this program examines the predece
 ssors to these famous pieces. Ricercars by Gabrielli and Antonii use the c
 ello as a true bass line voice&mdash\;many of them don't expand beyond the
  tenor range and make good use of the low register. The music is dark\, my
 sterious\, and peculiar at times\, but never fails to convey a time period
  of rich musical expression. J.S. Bach's first Cello Suite will close the 
 program.\nIn addition\, she'll be releasing BASS SOUNDS\, her debut solo C
 D\, at the concert! CDs will be available for purchase after the show (and
