  of love can send your heart all a pitter-patter\, whether you're a middle
  schooler or middle-aged. The end of love can break your heart. The jerks 
 at the car impoundment can crush your car. We've all been &ldquo\;crushed&
 rdquo\; before--let's talk about it.\nWhat is a Story Slam?  A story slam 
 is a contest of stories by known and undiscovered talent. Themes are poste
 d on our events pages (www.massmouth.com) and story slammers sign up on th
 e night to tell a 5-minute short story on the evening's theme. Ten names w
 ill be drawn at random from a box. A team of 5 volunteer judges - interest
 ed amateurs\, storytellers\, theater people and members of the audience wh
 o love stories - evaluate how well each story is told\, how well it is con
 structed\, how well the story explores\, connects and/or reveals some trut
 h about the theme and\, how well it honors the time limit. The 2 highest-s
 coring tellers are awarded prizes and an opportunity to progress to the 'B
 igMouthOff' at the at the end of the slam season (Sept  - April).\nFor mor
