 essional staffers who perform a political musical satire and keep you laug
 hing about events and personalities on Capitol Hill\, the Oval Office\, an
 d other centers of power.  Capitol Steps takes a humorous look at serious 
 issues and has provided laughs for millions!\nThe Capitol Steps were born 
 in December\, 1981 when some staffers for Senator Charles Percy were plann
 ing entertainment for a Christmas party. Ronald Reagan was President when 
 the Steps began\, so co-founders Elaina Newport\, Bill Strauss and Jim Aid
 ala figured that if entertainers could become politicians\, then politicia
 ns could become entertainers!  \n\nTheir first idea was to stage a nativit
 y play\, but in the whole Congress they couldn't find three wise men or a 
 virgin! So\, they decided to dig into the headlines of the day\, creating 
 song parodies and skits which convey a special brand of satirical humor th
