 previous experience with guitar is necessary. We will cover all the bases:
  all 'open' position chords\, easy strum and fingerpicking patterns\, basi
 c notation\, and tablature. This course will give you the tools to continu
 e on to any style of guitar playing. The emphasis is on playing songs in t
 he popular and folk idioms\; you will be introduced to music through playi
 ng simple melodies\, gradually advancing. At the end of the class you shou
 ld be able to play versions of most songs. We will also cover tuning\, gui
 tar care\, equipment\, etc. Please bring your guitar. Limited to 14.  Cour
 se takes place at 42 Brattle Street.\n\nStart time: 8:00-9:30pm
