  U.S. Navy Lieutenant B. F. Pinkerton inspects the house he has leased fro
 m a marriage broker\, Goro\, who has just procured him three servants and 
 a geisha wife\, Cio-Cio-San\, known as Madama Butterfly. The opera present
 s three emotion filled acts taking us from the initial wedding ceremonies 
 in which the young Japanese bride is chastised by relatives for having ren
 ounced her ancestors' religion.   In the second act Cio-Cio-San waits over
 looking the harbor with her now three years old adorable son Dolore (Troub
 le) for her husband's return.   The final Act reveals the crushing truth t
 hat Pinkerton has returned with his American wife Kate\, leading to the in
 evitable operatic conclusion of the fate of Madama Butterfly.\n\nStart tim
