 achusetts artists.   Burgess is best known for her incredibly passionate p
 aintings of the New England coastline. She tries to translate the dialogue
  between the moving water and the shore that meets it. Burgess gravitates 
 to imagery that shows contrasts in its elements\, or a narrative in progre
 ss\, or a mystery being revealed. Her color pallet is chosen to convey sen
 sory experiences to the viewer and her shapes are based in abstract design
