 ive Lynn Avery.  The works in The Sacred Forest convey the power and spiri
 tuality felt in the presence of an ancient or immense grove of trees. Insp
 ired by a concern for the environment\, and motivated by mounting evidence
  that trees around the world are increasingly at risk\, Lynn Avery has cre
 ated a series of forceful\, large-scale paintings that speak both to trees
 ' immense intensity and their uncertain future. The Sacred Forest is Avery
 's way of promoting public awareness of concerns for the future of our nat
