 ou ever wonder why some of the animals have balls\, baskets and other inte
 resting items in their exhibits? This is called enrichment and it is offer
 ed in a variety of different ways. Environmental enrichment encourages ani
 mals to use their natural abilities and behaviors to interact with their e
 nvironment. It increases activity and offers an opportunity for animals to
  make choices and experience new things like they would in the wild. Wheth
 er an animal prefers to forage through leaf litter for seeds\, burrow into
  the ground to hide\, or stalk and chase its prey\, its behavior is taken 
 into consideration when creating enrichment. Visit Stone Zoo during April 
 school vacation week to see all the creative things we do for the animals\
 , and learn how we keep them active and playing all year long! \n11:00 a.m
