'Language has been seeping into my work, insinuating itself for the past ten years,â' she has said. 'I am interested in the evolution of image as an analogy, a shadow of the text.'  Using cut out shapes that are collaged into painting, Davidson enters into a complicated process of wearing down the surface and then building it up again. 'Having developed from the use of actual language, the forms become a personal hieroglyph.
