The program includes works by Orlando di Lasso (the complete Sybilline Prophecies of 1564), Hans Leo Hassler, Alexander Utendal, Jakob Handl, Heinrich Schütz and Michelangelo Rossi, whose madrigals surpass even Gesualdo's in their chromatic daring.
