DESCRIPTION;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:Event Name: Summer Series: Chopin, Brahms, Schumann=0D=0AEvent Url: http://www.artsboston.org/event/detail/440824429=0D=0AEvent Date Begin: 2010-08-21=0D=0AEvent Date End: 2010-08-21=0D=0A=0D=0AThis summer BCMS observes the 200th anniversary of the births of Frederic Chopin and Robert Schumann with a four concert series in their honor. As two of the most revered and beloved Romantic composers, their lives in many ways mirrored each other. Both began composing exclusively for solo piano, sustained turbulent love lives, and died before we could experience the full extent of their musical output. Though Chopin resided in France and Schumann in Germany, the music and ideology of the Romantic era transcends the cultural barriers and brings forth a lush, impassioned response to their lives and the music that preceded them. In this series we also hear works of Liszt, Kodály, Brahms and Beethoven, who each in their own way revolutionized music.=0D=0A==0D=0A=Concert 3:=0D=0A=Chopin: Ballade in A-flat major, Op. 47=0D=0A=Brahms: Cello Sonata in E minor, Op. 38=0D=0A=Schumann: Piano Trio in G minor, Op. 110=0D=0A==0D=0A=Erin Keefe, violin/ Ronald Thomas, cello/ Mihae Lee, piano=0D=0A=0D=0AStart time:8:00 p.m.
